When I was in Brazil this summer, I had the pleasure of making a site visit to DryWash. This company is an exemplary instance of the ways in which innovation and sustainability can become integral components in the production of a commodity. This company has created a product which utilizes various technologies in order to provide assorted car wash services without using any water! The company has created various products, including a retail as well as a professional line, that work toward these ends.

Believing that a company has a responsibility to the well-being of the world at large, including environmental and social concerns, DryWash and its founder Lito Rodriguez believe that sustainability should be incorporated into all levels of production. These concerns are integrated into the conception of the product and the company as a whole. This company provides us with a stunning example of what is possible when we, as designers, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs, produce with an eye towards sustainability and ingenuity.
